Artist Statement
Throughout my artistry, I have stayed in the vulnerability and worked honestly through my fears and withholds. I feel I am starting to have more clairvoyance. I have come to realize during my molting process throughout my music education that I am an outlaw in its purest form, so being a solo artist is self-evident. I am a writer and I need to express myself fully by producing my own music, which has been greatly influenced by my journey in the tidewater area of beautiful Southern Virginia, where my rebellious Rock and Roll energy is fueled by the ghosts of pirates on local beaches, and my artistry is nurtured by the gentle atmosphere here in Hampton Roads.
My first album, Yellow Mustang, was the journey of a lifetime. The songs are each paradigms of my specific types of artistic communication. They are stories about despair, love, adventure, and social status, and with each song I reveal the questions, the poignance, and the pain, through my artist style.
Perhaps the centrifugal force of my art lies within the bombshell messages inside of it; I allow people to ask questions through what I create- and the music encourages people to interpret things for themselves. My Bombshell is this: "Wake up, everyone! Why is this happening?? Look at this! Why?? You don't need these lyrics, they need you!!"
