About
Ren Elby is a composer and performer of Rock and Roll who draws upon the influences of Elvis, Wanda Jackson, and Chuck Berry. A Connecticut native, she attended private school in New Haven and moved on to study at New England College of Business. She then embarked on a career in business and banking which took her to Boston, Massachusetts where she served as a federal loan manager. It was there that - in spite of her profound hearing loss- she finally pursued her true passion in life at Berklee College of Music. The artist found her calling in songwriting and has been honing her skills on a beach in southern Virginia. Her mission is not only to breathe life into original Rock and Roll with her own unique style, but also to reach a broad range of listeners through all media and streaming platforms.
She cultivates an inquiry into specific issues in our society, raising awareness through her music. Her relationship with her guitar is the greatest love story ever told; the artist applies her Classical guitar technique into her playing, giving her blues/rock sound a raw but resonant edge. She recently released her first Rock and Roll album, Yellow Mustang, with Byrdsongs studios in Nashville, and is completing her music degree program in Professional Interdisciplinary studies through Berklee College of Music online, while continuing Classical guitar and Blues guitar studies with her Royal College of Music professor. Stay tuned for her upcoming Blues album, Valley of an Eagle!
